Safe, conventional work is a ticket to oblivion. Working hard and doing great work is as imperative as breathing, and being a skilled creative and doing beautiful assignments along-side other mindful craft-masters warms the heart and enriches the soul. Those of us lucky enough to spend our days doing something we love, something we’re good at, are rich. I’ve always believed that if you don’t work passionately ( even furiously ) at being the best in the world at what you do, you fail your talent, your destiny, and your god. I’m super thankful everyday I work with people who inspire, energize, thrill and surprise me, and those of us who know that feeling should remind ourselves of our good fortune when we drink our coffee and head out the door for work remembering what Thomas Carlyle once wrote; “Blessed is he who has found his work; let him ask no other blessedness.” ☕️🙌🏼❤️✨🍀.

Fitting day for a bespoke frame project commissioned Louis Vuitton, Paris; a profile designed by Gordon R. Johnston of aaiFramemaker, Edmonton. White Oak with bleached white wax finish. Installed in the West Edmonton Mall, LV + same commissioned frame for LV, Naples Florida.

To us at AAI, the beauty of anything well-crafted lies within the consideration of the person who made it. When you spend time making something with your two hands, you impart love in a way that buying never can. We were so happy to have been short-listed and selected to design, create and make this frame for the Hon. Jim Prentice, PC. this past Fall ( it was modelled after a 15th century Flemish Portrait Frame we examined in Los Angeles in February 2019 ) It took three months to make. Water gilded with 12ct White Gold. Hand burnished All Edmonton Made in our Studios in Lower Laurier.

Plinth Revival | A pirouette at the top of the base was a request; quite logical and poetic it seems - to view the work by Peter von Tiesenhausen in the round - all at the effort of a finger; slowing and stopping, composing and parking. Great art should always do that - slow people down. Here's Kenton; our in-house plinth maker captured in Studio working on the assignment at hand with care + precision. Housing is Ebonized Walnut with a museum clasp anchoring the sculpture to ensure it is stabile and secure on this round-about plinth. Designed in house
